I have a certificate of negotiation and another one from the WIN Institute a while back. There are many ways to negotiate, and everyone is a little different. You have to do the research and analysis upfront, then you have to pay very close attention (it’s called SIPPING TEA- meaning LISTENING because the people tell you what they want!), and then you discuss it with your stakeholders and business owner and formulate levels of negotiations. We negotiate every day of our lives. Some listen better. :-)
One more technique and RULE #1- ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK.! People forget to ask. Just ask, and they may agree!

FROM THE DECK…
I worked closely with Celia, witnessing firsthand their exceptional ability to drive cost savings, enhance operational efficiencies, and build consensus among diverse business stakeholders. One of her most impressive achievements was successfully consolidating suppliers and renegotiating a $6 million spend category, ultimately securing a 40% cost reduction—all while maintaining quality and ensuring seamless delivery timelines.
Beyond the numbers, Celia is a strategic thinker and an expert negotiator. Her ability to conduct complex RFP processes was particularly evident in a high-stakes negotiation for a five-year contract. When unexpected challenges arose, she navigated them with precision, identifying creative solutions that mitigated risks and maximized the company's savings. Her dedication, problem-solving mindset, and ability to bring key business owners together made a lasting impact on our procurement strategy.
Simply put, Celia is a procurement leader who not only delivers measurable results but also fosters strong relationships across the organization. Her expertise, adaptability, and commitment to excellence make her an invaluable asset to any company. She has a contagious personality and is always upbeat, finding the best out of every situation.
